Malacañang said due process is being strictly observed in all legal proceedings linked to alleged irregularities in flood control projects.

The President ordered that all cases be handled with full respect for due process, which may explain delays in the filing of some charges, according to Palace Press Officer Claire Castro.

She made the statement amid questions on recent arrest warrants tied to the flood control probe.

Responding to former senator Ramon Revilla Jr.’s claim of lack of due process, Castro said this is a matter he can raise as part of his legal defense and must be backed by evidence.

Revilla was accused by a former Department of Public Works and Highways official of receiving kickbacks in exchange for endorsing flood control projects.IMT
