Malacañang said President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. personally ordered the investigation into anomalous flood control projects, leading to filed cases, arrests, and ongoing efforts to recover public funds.

Palace Office Claire Castro said the crackdown began after Marcos Jr. directed agencies to expose irregularities and hold accountable those behind ghost or anomalous projects.

She noted that the Ombudsman has already charged and jailed several individuals, following recommendations from the Department of Public Works and Highways and the Independent Commission for Infrastructure, which the President tasked to review a decade’s worth of infrastructure projects.

Castro said the results — arrests, charges, and recovered funds — show Marcos Jr.’s resolve to pursue accountability, even against high-profile personalities implicated in the scheme.

“Nais ng Pangulo na managot ang dapat na managot,” she also said.IMT
