President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. is saddened by the detention of former senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr. over an alleged ghost flood control project, Malacañang said.

But, Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said due process must take its course.

Marcos Jr. considers Revilla a friend and former ally, but emphasized that legal process prevails over personal ties, added Castro.

Revilla surrendered after the Sandiganbayan ordered his arrest over an alleged P92.8 billion ghost project in Pandi, Bulacan.

He posted P90,000 bail for his graft case before the Fourth Division but remains detained at the Quezon City Jail in Payatas for a malversation case before the Third Division, where no bail was recommended.IMT
