Malacañang has approved a higher 2023 Performance-Based Bonus (PBB) for qualified teaching and non-teaching personnel in the Department of Education (DepEd), following President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s directive to honor education sector workers.
Presidential Communications Office Undersecretary Claire Castro said the 2023 PBB will be 52% of the monthly basic salary for DepEd personnel who achieve a total assessment score of 80 points. This is higher than the previous bonuses of 45.5% in 2021 and 48.75% in 2022.
“Ang 2023 Performance-Based Bonus na ito ay mas mataas kumpara sa 45.5% at 48.75% noong 2021 at 2022,” Castro said during a Palace briefing.
She added that the bonus underscores the government’s commitment to supporting the dignity and welfare of education personnel who continue to work toward improving the country’s education system.IMT
