Malacañang expressed confidence that pro-Philippines government officials will continue to defend the country’s sovereignty despite pressure from foreign powers.
Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said true patriots will not be silenced.
She echoed President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s earlier statement that he said he would not give away even an inch of Philippine territory.
Her remarks came in response to questions about whether China’s recent travel ban on Senator Francis Tolentino would have a chilling effect on other officials. Beijing accused Tolentino of “egregious conduct on China-related issues.”
Tolentino authored Senate Bill No. 2492, which became Republic Act No. 12064 or the Philippine Maritime Zones Act. Marcos Jr. signed the measure into law on November 7, 2024.IMT
