Malacañang assured the public it is building airtight cases against those behind the anomalous and ghost flood control projects, vowing these will not collapse on technicalities like past Priority Development Assistance Fund cases.
PCO Secretary Dave Gomez said the administration is gathering strong evidence to secure convictions and recover stolen funds, stressing President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. is committed to finishing the anti-corruption drive he started.
Gomez noted that while only one case has so far produced arrest warrants—including one for former lawmaker Zaldy Co—many more investigations by the Independent Commission for Infrastructure and the Department of Public Works and Highways are nearing completion, with several already pending before the Ombudsman.
He said more cases and warrants are expected “before Christmas,” adding that the President will not be distracted by calls for him to step down.
“Pero this is what I can say: we hear you, we feel you, and we will not disappoint you. The President will not disappoint you,” the PCO chief said.IMT
