Malacañang has warned Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) employees, especially those who will be hired or promoted to fill nearly 2,000 vacancies, not to engage in corruption.
Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said DPWH Secretary Vince Dizon plans to dismiss several officials and employees involved in irregularities in flood control and other projects.
“Maraming matatanggal at dahil dito, warning na po ito sa mga papasok,” Castro said, emphasizing that DPWH personnel must uphold integrity, honesty, and the law.
During the DPWH flag ceremony, Dizon announced that almost 2,000 vacancies will be filled through promotions, prioritizing long-serving contractual or “job order” workers.
An Independent Commission for Infrastructure, created by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., is investigating anomalies in DPWH projects. Following the President’s directive, authorities have already frozen the assets of those linked to the misuse of public funds.IMT
