Malacañang has welcomed newly elected House Speaker Faustino Dy III, saying it looks forward to working with him as the public demands results on key concerns.

In a statement, the Palace also thanked former Speaker Martin Romualdez for helping advance President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s Bagong Pilipinas legislative agenda.

“The President recognizes the vital role of the House of Representatives, especially at a time when the public demands visible results and Congress is called upon to take active steps that address people’s concerns and deliver real improvements in daily life,” it said.

Malacañang also said that while it respects the chamber’s independence, it is committed to working with Speaker Dy and all lawmakers to pass measures that strengthen the economy, improve services, and safeguard democracy.

Dy secured 253 votes in Wednesday’s (Sept. 17) plenary session, with no negative votes, 28 abstentions, and four lawmakers not voting.IMT
