President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has vowed sustained government support for education and skills training, stressing their key role in helping Filipinos succeed in the workforce.

Speaking at the launch of the TESDA Skills Passport Mobile Application, Marcos Jr. said the administration will ensure adequate funding for education and strengthen skills development programs nationwide.

The President cited this year’s allocation of over P1 trillion for education and nearly P20 billion for TESDA—the agency’s biggest budget yet—for scholarships and skills training.

He highlighted the TESDA Skills Passport as a one-stop, user-friendly app that provides information on trainees, scholarships, job opportunities, accredited training institutions, and online courses, saying technology can help Filipinos access better jobs and improve their livelihoods.

Marcos Jr. also encouraged the youth, TESDA scholars, and lifelong learners to fully use the app, which will be available on the Apple App Store and Google Play after the launch.IMT
