President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has vowed to strictly enforce the ban on politicians’ involvement in the distribution of cash and other financial assistance under the 2026 General Appropriations Act.

During the signing of the P6.793-trillion 2026 national budget at Malacañan, Marcos Jr. said all aid must be delivered through proper government channels to ensure it reaches intended beneficiaries without patronage or political influence.

“Politicians shall be barred from the distribution of any financial aid and we shall ensure that the support reaches the intended beneficiaries without patronage,” the President said, stressing that assistance must be given in full and without deductions.

The ban covers government programs such as AICS, TUPAD, the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program, as well as cash grants and pensions for senior citizens and persons with disabilities.

Marcos Jr. also highlighted increased funding under the Local Government Support Fund to help LGUs address development needs, support livelihoods, and build resilient communities.

He added that several budget items and programs will be implemented under strict legal and regulatory conditions to ensure accountability and support long-term development goals.IMT
