President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has launched the DPWH Transparency Portal, giving the public full access to data on more than 247,000 infrastructure projects nationwide in a bid to curb corruption and rebuild trust in government.
Marcos Jr. said the lack of transparency fueled irregularities in DPWH projects, including the flood control kickbacks he exposed in his SONA.
He called the portal “digital na pader laban sa korupsyon” and urged Filipinos to monitor projects and report anomalies.
The portal, accessible via the DPWH website, contains project costs, implementing offices, progress rates, funding sources, images, geographic data, and contract documents for all projects since 2016. Updates will be uploaded monthly.
Developed in two months with support from tech partners and the Philippine Space Agency, the system uses AI for faster navigation. The public may submit anonymous reports, which the DPWH will act on.
Marcos Jr. vowed to hold accountable those behind anomalous flood control and other infrastructure projects.IMT
