President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. said he hopes ongoing education reforms will become fully institutionalized so Filipinos can treat quality education as a right they can demand even beyond his administration.

In his latest podcast, Marcos Jr. told college students that the government is prioritizing education in the proposed 2026 budget, noting that SUCs will receive strong support with a P185-billion allocation under the record P1.38-trillion education budget.

He lamented the long neglect of the sector, pointing to the 160,000-classroom shortage, and vowed catch-up efforts focused on building classrooms, improving teacher support, and providing equipment such as computers and internet access.

The President said the government is fixing everything “down to the school toilets” to ensure functional and conducive learning environments nationwide.

“Hanggang doon kailangan natin ayusin lahat,” according to him.IMT
