Iloilo First District Representative Janette Loreto-Garin has dismissed as “fake news” a Facebook post accusing her and other lawmakers of being involved in the implementation of the P811-billion flood control projects.
In a radio interview, Garin said the accusation is an attempt to derail the examination of flood control projects implemented by 15 contractors on President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s list.
The post by ‘Serbisyong Pilipinas’ tagged Garin as a “congtractor,” the portmanteau for a House member and a contractor.
“Pekeng balita ang ilinalabas…Huwag natin paniwalaan ang mga pekeng balita,” she said.
According to Garin House Speaker Martin Romualdez is working to identify the contractors of substandard flood control projects.
She said that not all flood control projects are useless as some served their purpose.IMT
