President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Monday, June 26, witnessed the Philippine National Police’s (PNP) swift response to 911 emergency calls, with some units arriving on-site in as little as three to five minutes.
PNP Chief Gen. Nicolas Torre III demonstrated the real-time system to the President, showing live footage from body cameras worn by patrolling officers.
Marcos praised the rapid response as a sign of the government’s push to modernize police operations and boost public safety.
To improve visibility and response time, Torre had earlier removed police boxes and community precincts, redeploying officers to active patrol duty—on foot or in vehicles—and directing them to stay connected to 911 dispatches. IMT
