The Iloilo Provincial Government is closely monitoring the situation of Ilonggo overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) in Israel.
This is amid the escalating conflict between Iran and Israel, which started when the latter attacked the former’s nuclear and military sites.
Governor Arthur Defensor, Jr. ordered the Provincial Public Employment Service Office (PESO) to mobilize assistance and support to Ilonggos affected by the conflict.
PESO-Iloilo manager Cynthia Parcon-Dario said those needing help could call 0998-990-5663, 0917-754-3833, 0961-680-4428, and 0916-758-3156.
The emergency hotlines, according to Dario, are operational 24/7 to cater to inquiries or distress calls from Ilonggo OFWs or their relatives.
She assured that PESO is ready to respond immediately should any Ilonggo OFW reach out to them for help.
The provincial government also directed barangay-based PESO coordinators and local OFW associations to get updates on the situation from families of Ilonggos working in Israel.
The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) said there are more than 30,000 OFWs in Israel and about 200 of them are from Iloilo.IMT
