Businessman Enrique Razon has filed two counts of cyber libel against Cavite Rep. Francisco Barzaga before the Makati City prosecutor’s office over allegations that he bribed lawmakers to support Leyte Rep. Martin Romualdez for Speaker.
Razon, chair of International Container Terminal Services Inc., filed the complaint with his lawyer Laurence Arroyo and took his oath before Assistant City Prosecutor Nicu dela Merced.
The case stemmed from Barzaga’s claim that his former colleagues in the National Unity Party received bribes from Razon to back Romualdez in the speakership race.
NUP officials denied the allegation, with party chair and Antipolo Rep. Ronaldo Puno saying there was no speakership contest since Romualdez ran unopposed.
The NUP was founded by Barzaga’s father, the late Rep. Elpidio Barzaga Jr.IMT
