Senator Raffy Tulfo is set to file a bill institutionalizing random drug testing for incumbent elective and appointive officials to strengthen integrity and accountability in government.

The move comes after Tulfo and his Senate staff voluntarily underwent mandatory drug testing, which he initiated to set an example.

Tulfo stressed that his proposal aligns with the Supreme Court’s 2008 ruling declaring drug tests for election candidates unconstitutional.

His measure will therefore exclude candidates and instead cover officials already in office.

“Kung walang tinatago, walang dapat ikatakot. This is about protecting the integrity of our institutions and making sure our leaders are truly serving the people,” he said.IMT
