Senate Blue Ribbon Vice Chair Erwin Tulfo urged contractors Pacifico “Curlee” Discaya, Sarah Discaya, and dismissed Bulacan 1st District Engineer Henry Alcantara to reveal the high-ranking officials behind flood control anomalies before the Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI).
Tulfo said they should follow former Bulacan Assistant District Engineer Brice Hernandez, who already gave sensitive information to the ICI.
“If they’re afraid to tell everything to the Blue Ribbon, then they can do it at the ICI instead, because their statements there will be strictly confidential, but still under oath, of course,” he noted.
The ICI, created by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., is tasked to probe massive corruption in flood control projects, identify those who pocketed billions, and file charges. Marcos Jr. earlier vowed the commission will spare no one, even allies.
Tulfo also pressed for swift action, saying evidence from Blue Ribbon hearings is already substantial.
“Let’s just wait and see the results of the ICI’s investigation on who will be charged in the flood control corruption; after all, the public already has an idea of who the high- ranking officials are behind this,” he said.IMT
