Maasin’s Tultugaan Festival is gunning for a third straight win in the Kasadyahan sa Kabanwahanan, one of the major events of the Dinagyang Festival.
In a radio interview, Mayor Francis “Ansing” Amboy expressed confidence that their town’s festival will emerge victorious this year.
“Ako kampante ako as a tribe manager nga madepensahan namon kag makuha ang grand slam,” he said.
Amboy assured that the tribe representing the Tultugan Festival will deliver a more impressive performance during the competition on Saturday, Jan. 24.
“Kon sang nagligad tuig, makasiyam ka beses nga nag ‘wow’ and tagtumalan-aw, subong nga tuig mga 15 ka ‘wow’ ang ila mahatag kay damo sila surpresa nga ginpreparar,” he said.
According to the mayor, they have spent around P4 million for the participation of the festival in the competition.
The Tultugan Festival is one of the eight festivals competing in the Kasadyahan sa Kabanwahanan, which will take place at the Iloilo Freedom Grandstand at 1 p.m. and at the Iloilo Sports Complex at 3 p.m.
The seven other festivals are Jimanban Festival of New Lucena, Tawili Festival of San Rafael, Salakayan Festival of Miag-ao, Pagnahi-an Festival of Bingawan, Kasag Festival of Banate, Kahilwayan Festival of Santa Barbara, and Banaag Festival of Anilao.IMT
