Senator Bam Aquino is pushing for stronger government support for the country’s creative industry, saying it can create more jobs and boost the economy.
Aquino said the Philippines’ creative sector is one of the country’s biggest strengths and should get proper funding, investment, and long-term planning from the government.
He stressed that supporting Filipino artists, musicians, filmmakers, writers, designers, and content creators can open more livelihood opportunities while promoting Filipino talent worldwide.
Aquino recently filed a Senate resolution honoring P-pop group BINI for becoming the first Filipino act to perform at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in California.
BINI’s success, according to him, proves that Filipino talent can compete on the global stage and inspire more young Filipinos to pursue their dreams.
BINI members, meanwhile, thanked Aquino for the recognition and called for stronger support for Filipino creatives who lack platforms and opportunities to showcase their talents internationally.IMT
