A flight from the Iloilo International Airport was delayed for more than an hour on Thursday night, Dec. 21, due to a bomb joke.

Passengers of Cebu Pacific Flight 5J 460 were deplaned for inspection after one of them reportedly made a joke involving a bomb.

The aircraft was checked and all check-in and hand-carried luggage were brought out and inspected again by security agents of the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP).

The aircraft was allowed to proceed with its flight to Manila at 11:25 p.m. It was supposed to depart at 10 p.m.

Under Presidential Decree No. 1727, a person who makes a bomb joke at the airport may be penalized with a fine of over P40,000 and/or a jail term of more than 5 years, depending on the court’s decision.IMT
