The town of Calinog has the highest number of dengue cases in the province of Iloilo, latest data from the Provincial Health Office (PHO) showed.
From January 4 to August 8, 2026, Calinog recorded 153 cases of dengue hemorrhagic fever, an acute viral infection transmitted through the bite of an infected mosquito.
Cabatuan came in second with 140 dengue cases, followed by Estancia, 152; Passi City, 88; Ajuy, 87 (including one death); Dumangas, 82; Lambunao, 65, Concepcion, 63; Carles, 60 (including two deaths), and Maasin, 59.
Other towns with high number of cases included Oton (55), Tigbauan (51), San Dionisio (49 with one death), San Enrique (47), Alimodian (46), Sara (46), Santa Barbara (45), Banate (41), Batad (41), and Janiuay (41).
Overall, the province registered 1,833 dengue cases with seven deaths, lower by 53 percent compared with 3,896 cases (including 15 deaths) logged in the same period last year.
