The Senate should not focus on the impeachment trial of Vice President Sara Duterte alone, according to Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano.

Cayetano said the chamber must also move forward with its planned probe into the alleged anomalies in flood control projects, saying government accountability should apply to everyone.

“People should demand better government. People should demand total accountability. We’re here, we’re present, we’re going to hold the Vice President accountable. But let’s also hold accountable lahat ng involved sa flood control [controversy].”

Cayetano also wondered why the Senate could schedule weeks of impeachment hearings but not the Blue Ribbon inquiry.
