Ilonggo training and consulting firm Cornelius Magnate Engagement and Consulting has taken part in several Iloilo City programs for entrepreneurs and public servants. The engagements cover support for local business owners, frontline government personnel and organizations involved in enterprise development.
Founded by Ilonggo business consultant Ken Lerona, the firm works with companies, government offices and development institutions on leadership, strategy, customer and citizen experience, communication, innovation, organizational development and the responsible use of technology. In Iloilo City, its recent work has included the USWAG Negosyo Academy, customer service training for the Business Permits and Licensing Office, Business Talks 2026, and the City Government-led inaugural MSME Week.
Through the USWAG Negosyo Academy, Cornelius Magnate took part in the city’s continuing efforts to provide practical learning opportunities for local entrepreneurs. The program allowed business owners to examine how they organize their operations, make decisions and prepare their enterprises for the demands of growth.
Business owners also deal with the city government when securing or renewing permits. The firm also supported “Business Talks 2026: Navigating the Business Life Cycle,” organized by the Iloilo Business Club and the Iloilo City Government.
Lerona discussed how the needs of an enterprise change as it moves from establishment to growth. The session covered decisions involving people, systems, customers and execution as an organization becomes larger and more complex.
Cornelius Magnate later joined the inaugural MSME Week, alongside public and private institutions involved in activities for micro, small and medium enterprises. The event gave entrepreneurs another venue for business learning, exchange and connection.
The four activities involve different parts of the local business environment. The USWAG Negosyo Academy works directly with entrepreneurs. The Business Permits and Licensing Office manages transactions that affect their dealings with city government. Business Talks and MSME Week provide additional venues for learning and professional exchange.
