The Department of Education (DepEd) has secured 172,654 Apple MacBook Neo laptops for public school teachers and administrative personnel nationwide, with distribution set to begin this November.
Education Secretary Sonny Angara said the procurement aims to provide teachers and non-teaching staff with quality and durable equipment to support their work.
“Our teachers and non-teaching staff deserve the best. So this is the best we feel we can buy,” Angara said in an interview.
He added that the laptops come with a five-year warranty, assuring personnel of the equipment’s quality and durability.
“Makikita nila na quality ang mabibigay natin sa kanila and very durable and because may kasamang 5-year warranty,” he said.
A News report placed the cost of the MacBook Neo package at approximately P43,000 per unit.
Angara was in Iloilo City on Wednesday morning, Nov. 4, to attend the Literacy and Numeracy Expo-cum-Training of Trainers, which focused on providing technical assistance for instructional delivery.IMT
