The Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) has launched an investigation into a viral video circulating online that allegedly shows two young individuals engaging in an obscene act at Esplanade 8 in Barangay Progreso, Lapuz.
Police Colonel Wilbert B. Parilla, ICPO director, ordered the probe after the video, which reportedly features a man and a woman in school uniforms, garnered significant attention on social media.
According to initial reports, the individuals in the video were performing an indecent act in plain view within the public recreational space.
Parilla tasked police units with verifying the video’s authenticity and identifying the individuals involved.
The investigation also aim to determine any potential violations of existing laws and local ordinances.
The ICPO indicated they would coordinate with relevant government agencies, placing particular emphasis on the potential involvement of minors.
Iloilo City’s Greening and Beautification Program conducted a cleanup at Esplanade 8 following the viral incident involving the two students.
Meanwhile, officials noted that maintenance personnel have yet to be assigned to the newly opened area.
In a statement, the ICPO strongly urged the public to stop sharing, reposting, or circulating the video.
It warned that doing so could further harm the privacy and dignity of those involved, particularly if they are underage.
The ICPO also encouraged families to increase supervision, promote responsible social media habits, and reinforce values of respect and discipline in their children.
“Choices have consequences,” said Parilla. “We remind everyone, especially the youth, that every action—whether done in private or in public—may affect their future. We call on parents, guardians, and the entire community to work together in guiding our young people toward making responsible decisions.”
