The Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO), for the second consecutive year, was named as the country’s best city police office, while the Iloilo Provincial Police Office (IPPO) made it to the Top 5 performing provincial offices.

ICPO officer-in-charge Col. Wilbert Parilla received the recognition from Executive Secretary Ralph Recto, on behalf of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., Department of the Interior and Local Government Secretary Juanito Victor Remulla Jr. and PNP chief Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. during the 1st PNP Day 2026 celebration at Camp Crame in Quezon City on Thursday, Jan. 29.

The same distinction was awarded to the ICPO on Aug. 12, 2025, during the 124th Police Service Anniversary, also in Camp Crame.

Parilla thanked his predecessor, Col. Kim Legada, the men and women of the ICPO, the local government of Iloilo City, and the entire community for their support and cooperation to the police office.

“This recognition is a testament to the hard work, professionalism, and dedication of every member of ICPO, as well as the strong partnership we share with our local government and stakeholders. Rest assured that we will continue to serve with honor and dedication to ensure the safety and security of our beloved Iloilo City,” Parilla said in a statement.

Meanwhile, IPPO will receive its award as best PPO in Western Visayas during the PNP Day celebration of the Police Regional Office 6 (PRO-6) on Feb. 2.

IPPO director Col. Bayani Razalan will also receive the award as Best Senior Police Commissioned Officer; while Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit chief Maj. Dadje Delima is the Best Junior Police Commissioned Officer for Western Visayas.

The provincial police office, Razalan and Delima all made it to the Top 5 at the national level.

Razalan said the relentless anti-criminality campaign of the IPPO has resulted in lower index crimes in Iloilo.

“What is good is that we have a high crime clearance efficiency and crime solution efficiency. We surpass the minimum passing requirements of the national headquarters,” he said in a media interview.PNA
