Iloilo City’s intensified anti-illegal drug campaign resulted in the arrest of 40 drug personalities from July 1 to 15 this year.
Of the apprehended suspects, 12 were considered high-value targets and 28 were street-level offenders, according to the Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO).
They were nabbed in 29 anti-drug operations conducted in the city in the first 15 days of the month.
The operations also yielded 873.5655 grams of shabu (crystal meth) worth approximately P5.9 million.
Police Colonel Kim P. Legada, ICPO director, lauded the efforts of their operatives in curbing illegal drug activities and capturing those involved.
“This reflects our unwavering determination to eradicate the illegal drug menace in our society. Our goal is to save the families we love and protect the communities we care about,” he said.
“Let’s continue to intensify our efforts. As I’ve always reiterated, we cannot afford to let another day go by without action in our fight against drugs—our complacency today will define the future of our next generation. Work and action are far better than regret,” Legada added.
In the first six months of 2025, ICPO arrested a total of 464 drug personalities and seized 12,674.9564 grams of shabu and 124.6981 grams of marijuana worth more than P86 million.IMT
