Senator Panfilo Lacson has praised Senator Erwin Tulfo for standing by the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee’s partial report on alleged anomalies in flood control projects.

Lacson’s remark came after Tulfo revealed in a podcast interview that some fellow senators were unhappy with his decision to sign the report.

Tulfo said he was told that some colleagues could be affected by the findings, but insisted he could not ignore what was uncovered during the hearings.

“Hindi ko naman pwedeng ipikit-pikit,” Tulfo said as he explained why he signed the report despite the pressure.

Lacson said Tulfo’s statement confirmed his belief on why the report failed to gain enough support in the Senate.

Although the report did not secure the nine signatures needed for plenary sponsorship, its findings were later included in Senate records through Lacson’s privilege speech and were also submitted to the Ombudsman.IMT
