Micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in the Leon, Iloilo, stand to benefit from the newly launched One Town, One Product (OTOP) Hub at the town’s Pasalubong Center in Poblacion.
The hub was officially launched by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Iloilo Provincial Office on Aug. 14, in partnership with the local government unit (LGU).
The Leon OTOP Hub provides a dedicated venue for the marketing and promotion of locally made products, giving MSMEs, entrepreneurs, and artisans greater opportunities to reach more consumers while showcasing the town’s unique products, craftsmanship, and culture.
The initiative reflects the continuing partnership between DTI Iloilo and the LGU of Leon in promoting local enterprises, expanding market opportunities, and creating more economic opportunities for the municipality’s entrepreneurs.
The event was highlighted by the ceremonial signing of a memorandum of agreement (MOA) between DTI Iloilo OIC-Provincial Director Ma. Dorita D. Chavez and Municipal Mayor Hon. Ma. Lina C. Holipas.
The MOA signing signifies the commitment of both institutions to sustain the OTOP Hub and strengthen support for the municipality’s micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
The launch was graced by Iloilo Second District Representative Kathryn Joyce Gorriceta and her husband, former congressman Michael Gorriceta.
Also present were members of the Sangguniang Bayan, LGU department heads, DTI Iloilo personnel, partner agencies, MSMEs, and other stakeholders.IMT
