President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. said Congress is free to investigate alleged anomalies in flood control projects, but the Executive Branch will also pursue its own probe.

In his BBM Podcast, Marcos Jr. said both the Senate and House have the prerogative to conduct inquiries, adding that such investigations may yield helpful findings.

He confirmed that an independent commission will soon be created through an executive order to investigate irregularities in DPWH projects.

The body will be tasked to recommend legal actions against those involved in corruption—not only in flood control projects but across all DPWH programs.

“We’ll organize it. We will support it fully… I’m sure (they will) play their part in finding the truth to all of these – all of these anomalies,” the President said.IMT
