President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. is looking at opportunities in the growing space industry to create jobs and give Filipino professionals and businesses a bigger role in the country’s digital economy.

The matter was discussed during his meeting with the Private Sector Advisory Council Digital Infrastructure Sector Group at Malacañan Palace on Tuesday.

Marcos Jr. said Filipino workers have the talent to compete globally, but the government must help ensure that opportunities are available locally.

The discussions also covered possible partnerships between the government and private sector to develop local skills, support businesses and explore opportunities in the space industry.

Micro, small and medium enterprises are also expected to benefit from a stronger digital economy, particularly as technology opens up new markets and business opportunities.IMT
