President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has urged Filipinos to honor the country’s heroes not only by remembering their sacrifices but also by doing their part in helping build a better Philippines.
In his message for National Heroes’ Day, Marcos Jr. said the best way to honor those who fought for the country is to continue the work they started.
“Today, I call on every Filipino to do more than remember our brave national heroes. Let us also renew our solemn duty to carry forward the nation for which they fought and sacrificed,” Marcos Jr. said.
He said the country’s heroes fought for freedom, defended the dignity of Filipinos and helped lay the foundations of the Republic.

ers and contribute to their communities.
“Their spirit endures in every Filipino who chooses to serve, care, and contribute to a cause greater than oneself,” he said.
He cited soldiers and first responders who put their lives on the line to keep people safe, as well as teachers, health workers, farmers, fisherfolk and overseas Filipino workers who help sustain families and communities.
The President also recognized ordinary Filipinos who help their neighbors, protect vulnerable people and work honestly for the common good.
He called on Filipinos to remain worthy of the freedom inherited from the country’s heroes and to help build a nation that future generations can be proud of.
“Let the Bagong Pilipinas we are shaping continue to revere the heroes of the past, present, and future,” Marcos Jr. said.IMT
