The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has assured the public that the results of its investigation into the reported shooting incident inside the Senate building would be made public, including findings on whether the incident was staged or not.

Director Melvin Matibag said the bureau is still conducting a thorough investigation and refused to draw conclusions for now.

“We’d rather not draw a conclusion sa isang ongoing investigation,” Matibag said during a Palace briefing, adding that the final results would be disclosed to the public.

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. earlier called for calm and ordered a full investigation into the incident.

Meanwhile, Philippine National Police chief Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. said the PNP is coordinating with the NBI to determine what really happened.

Nartatez said investigators are now identifying armed personnel present in and around the Senate premises and comparing witness statements with physical evidence, including empty shells and CCTV footage.IMT
