Malacañang has kept its distance from the word war between Executive Secretary Ralph Recto and Batangas Rep. Leandro Leviste over corruption claims.

Palace press officer Claire Castro said President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s meeting with Recto did not touch on the issue, stressing the dispute is “personal” between the two.

“Kung mayroon man silang personal na alitan, sa kanilang dalawa na lamang po iyon,” Castro said.

Leviste earlier accused Recto of taking P1 billion from a contractor for the 2025 campaign and linked other lawmakers to vote buying, but the House later struck his speech from the record for lack of proof.

Recto fired back, saying he rejected Leviste’s alleged P400 million offer to bribe rivals to withdraw from the race.IMT
