Malacañang respects the International Criminal Court (ICC) ruling confirming crimes against humanity charges against former president Rodrigo Duterte.
Palace Press Officer Claire Castro stressed the need for justice and due process for both the accused and the victims.
“We respect the ruling of ICC that confirms all charges of crimes against humanity against former President Duterte,” said Castro.
The International Criminal Court earlier ruled that Duterte ran a state killing machine, saying orders to “neutralize” criminals meant killing them.
The decision sends Duterte to a full trial, the first for any Asian head of state before the ICC.IMT
