President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has welcomed four non-resident ambassadors in Malacañang, expressing hope for stronger ties between the Philippines and their respective countries.
Presenting their letters of credence were Ambassadors-Designate Retselisitsoe Theko of the Kingdom of Lesotho, Reinaldo Rafael Espinal of the Dominican Republic, Masanneh Nyuku Kinteh of the Republic of The Gambia, and Landry Mboumba of the Gabonese Republic.
During his meeting with Ambassador Theko, Marcos Jr. said he wants to expand cooperation with Lesotho in education, technical training, healthcare, skills development, trade, investment, tourism, and multilateral cooperation.
“I look forward to examining those and exploring those areas of cooperation with you and to find ways to bring our countries closer to the mutual benefit of all,” the President said.
The Philippine leader also told Ambassador Kinteh that he hopes to deepen cooperation with The Gambia, particularly in agriculture, education, trade, tourism, and investment.
Meanwhile, Marcos Jr. said he expects Ambassador Espinal’s stint in the Philippines to further strengthen relations between Manila and the Dominican Republic and bring mutual benefits to both countries.IMT
