More than P43.18 billion has been released on orders of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to fund aid programs for the country’s most vulnerable sectors, including children and senior citizens.

Palace press officer Claire Castro said the DBM move ensures uninterrupted delivery of cash aid, food support, pensions, and livelihood assistance.

Bulk of the funds, over P36.8 billion, will go to emergency aid for families in crisis, while P3.4 billion is set for child feeding programs.

More than P2 billion will cover pensions of indigent seniors, and P810 million is allotted for livelihood support.

The government said the funding aims to strengthen social protection and ensure faster aid delivery to those in need.IMT
