President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has vowed to increase the budget for the Socio-Civic Projects Fund (SCPF) in 2027 if the program continues to benefit communities.

Speaking during the turnover of SCPF financial assistance in Tuguegarao City, Marcos Jr. said the government is ready to provide a bigger allocation once the program is proven effective.

“’Pagka maging maganda ang patakbo nitong programang ito… dagdagan natin ng budget para mas malaki pa,” the President said.

Marcos Jr. also encouraged presidential scholars in Cagayan to use their education in serving their families, communities, and the country.

Under the SCPF-Bawat Barangay Makikinabang Program, each of Cagayan’s 820 barangays received P200,000 in assistance.

Half of the amount will fund barangay projects such as public services, streetlighting, and disaster response, while the remaining P100,000 will support five Bagong Pilipinas Barangay Scholars in every barangay.IMT
