Sen. Panfilo Lacson on Thursday, May 21, said he felt “double relief” after being replaced as chairman of the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee.

Sen. Pia Cayetano was named the panel’s new chairperson.

“Double relief. I feel relieved that I am now relieved of my duties,” Lacson said in a post on X.

Under Lacson’s leadership, the committee conducted hearings on alleged anomalies in flood control projects.

Despite stepping down, Lacson said he would continue fighting corruption.

“I will continue to fight a corrupt and rotten system in the misuse and abuse of public funds,” he said.IMT
