Police seized nearly P50 million worth of suspected illegal drugs and arrested 182 suspects in Western Visayas during intensified anti-drug operations in July, according to the Police Regional Office (PRO-6) reported.

PRO-6 said 146 anti-drug operations conducted across the region resulted in the confiscation of 7,321.29 grams of suspected shabu and 61.30 grams of suspected marijuana, with a combined estimated value of P49.79 million.

Among those arrested were 63 high-value individuals, 109 street-level individuals and one drug personality of interest.

Acting Regional Director Brig. Gen. Randulf Tuaño said the results reflect sustained law enforcement efforts and strong community support.

“Every drug seizure represents fewer illegal substances reaching our communities. Our goal is straightforward —to disrupt the illegal drug supply, protect our communities, and ensure that every police operation is carried out professionally and in accordance with the law,” he said.

Tuaño said the fight against illegal drugs also requires the continued support of families, schools, local officials and communities to help protect the youth from substance abuse.PNA
