The Department of Labor and Employment Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB-VI) held its third blended public hearing on Oct. 9, to gather stakeholders’ views and recommendations on the proposed minimum wage adjustment in Western Visayas.

Representatives from government agencies, labor groups, management and other sectors attended the hearing at Barangay San Rafael, Mandurriao, Iloilo City, to present their comments and suggestions on the proposed wage adjustment.

The hearing consisted of two sessions. The morning session was for workers in private establishments and companies, while the afternoon session was dedicated to domestic workers in Panay and Negros Occidental.

The consultation covered Iloilo City, Iloilo province, Antique and Guimaras.

The first two public hearings were held in Bacolod City on October 6 and 7. The first focused on workers in private establishments, including labor and management representatives, while the second covered workers in the sugar industry, including sugarcane planters and farm workers.

The fourth public hearing is scheduled for October 20 at Casa Pilar Beach Resort in Barangay Manocmanoc, Boracay Island, Malay, Aklan. It will cover workers in private establishments, including labor and management representatives, from Aklan and Capiz.IMT
