Urban planner and landscape architect Paulo Alcazaren has proposed reconfiguring the iconic triangular traffic islands in Iloilo City.
The proposed reconfiguration was presented by Alcazaren to Iloilo Governor Arthur “Toto” Defensor Jr. on Friday, June 19.

Alco called the “Siete Pecados Islands,” the traffic islands are located in front of the Iloilo Provincial Capitol on Bonifacio Drive in Iloilo City.
Provincial Administrator Raul Banias, in a Facebook post, said the proposal aims to facilitate smoother traffic flow and develop a small plaza in the area.

The development plan, according to Banias, will be subject to further discussions with the city government, Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCAA), and other concerned stakeholders.
Alcazaren designed Iloilo Esplanade, the largest linear park in the Philippines. He was also involved in the development of Clarke Quay at the bank of Singapore River.IMT
