The Sta. Barbara National Comprehensive High School Football Team (SBNCHS-FT) emerged as champion in the U-16 Boys 11-A-Side Football category of the Pintaflores Cup 2026, held in San Carlos City, Negros Occidental, from October 25–31, 2026.
Adding to the team’s remarkable campaign, Jaylord Dajay secured the Golden Ball Award, while Monsor Manuel Lopio received the Best Goalkeeper Award.
Notably, most of the players are products of the Iloilo Province U-15 Developmental League Program, where they previously captured the championship title. Their journey to the Pintaflores Cup championship highlights the value of sustained grassroots football development in discovering, developing, and preparing young Ilonggo athletes for higher levels of competition.
The team’s success was guided by Head Coach Bervic Italia, together with coaches Joemarie Dignadice, Anthony Masculino, Ryan Peñaflorida, John Paul Somogod, and Demille John Sodusta. The teacher-coaches, Bern Golen and Rhea Sumahit, also provided support, alongside Team Manager Ralph Perez and School Principal Dr. Rolando Rafael C. Cabanig.
The team’s campaign was further supported by MV Payag Club de Fútbol, whose officers include Chairman Keith Subong, President Victor Ampunan, Vice President Nikol Val Suay, and Vice President for External Affairs Neste John Suiza.
From developmental league champions to Pintaflores Cup titleholders, SBNCHS-FT’s triumph stands as a testament to dedication, teamwork, and the growing strength of grassroots football in Iloilo.IMT
