The Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA) has committed P250 million for the construction of a six-storey parking building in Iloilo.

The parking building will be a major component of the Smart Green Government Center in Barangay Bolong Oeste, Santa Barbara.

The commitment was made by Chief Operating Officer Mark Lapid during his visit to the province on Tuesday, Sept. 15.

Lapid conducted a site inspection for the proposed project in the town with Governor Arthur Defensor Jr., Santa Barbara Mayor Dennis Superficial, and concerned provincial government department heads.

The multi-level parking building will be built at the main entrance to “ensure seamless transactions for visitors.”

In return, Lapid requested that a dedicated space within the complex be allocated for a new TIEZA office.

The government center, situated on a 6.3-hectare property of the provincial government, is designed as a comprehensive one-stop shop.

Its expanded master plan also features a convention facility, a sports stadium, a mall, and various commercial spaces.

TIEZA is the infrastructure and investment arm of the Department of Tourism (DOT).IMT
