Iloilo City Mayor Jerry Treñas met with First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos at a hotel in Mandurriao district on Friday afternoon, Nov. 25.

“Had a chance to visit the First Lady in her hotel and had some talks about her stay and shared our plans for the city,” Treñas said in a Facebook post.

According to the mayor, the First Lady confirmed that she will attend the city’s face-to-face celebration of the Dinagyang Festival in January next year.

Treñas was joined by Congresswoman Jamjam Baronda, Vice Mayor Jeffrey Ganzon, Coucilor Migz Treñas, and Liga ng mga Barangay president Irene Ong.

“She (Marcos) expressed support to our vision for the #HeartofthePH and you, our beloved Ilonggos,” said. Baronda

Marcos’ father, Manuel “Manolet” Araneta, is a native of Jaro district.
