Mayor Raisa Treñas has submitted a proposed P2.02-billion budget for the Office of the City Mayor for fiscal year 2027, forming nearly half of the city’s total proposed budget.

The executive allocation of P2,022,105,105 represents a slight decrease from the estimated P2.208-billion budget this year, though it remains higher than the office’s actual expenditure of P1.804 billion in 2025.

More than half of the requested funding—totaling P1.058 billion—is earmarked for Maintenance and Other Operating Expenses (MOOE).

Major operational items include P190 million for electricity, P8 million for water, and allocations for official travel, employee training, office supplies, security services, and local tourism initiatives.

Personnel Services, covering salaries and benefits for staff under the Mayor’s Office, account for P161.8 million, while P36.8 million has been requested for Capital Outlay, including vehicular and equipment acquisitions.

The proposal also sets aside P247.6 million in financial expenses to service existing loans with LandBank and the Development Bank of the Philippines (DBP).

The loans financed key city infrastructure projects, including public market rehabilitations, the city hospital, a parking facility, school buildings, and the sanitary landfill.

Furthermore, P516.8 million is allocated under Special Purpose Appropriations (SPA).

The amount will cover disaster response, community development, financial assistance to barangays, and local stipends for national agency personnel, including police officers, firefighters, jail guards, and public school teachers.

The Mayor’s Office budget forms part of the city’s overall P4.8-billion proposed Annual Budget for 2027, which is currently undergoing review by the City Council’s Committee on Appropriations.IMT
