Iloilo City Mayor Raisa Treñas is encouraging local coffee shop owners to register on the “Kape Ta, Iloilo” website to make it easier for local and foreign visitors to find coffee shops in the city.

Treñas made the call during the opening of “Kape Ta sa Merkado” at the Iloilo Central Public Market, where 18 coffee shops are currently operating.

She said coffee businesses in the city can register on the website for free so visitors can easily find their shops when they come to Iloilo.

“Gina-encourage ko gid ang tanan nga may negosyo nga kape diri sa Iloilo City nga mag-register agud mahapus matultulan sang mga bisita ang inyo coffee shops,” Treñas said in a Facebook post.

Treñas said the initiative will help local entrepreneurs and promote Iloilo’s coffee culture.

“Let’s support local entrepreneurs, padayon naton nga sakdagon ang Ilonggo coffee heritage sa Siyudad sang Iloilo,” she said.

The mayor also invited residents and visitors looking for a place to have coffee to check out the Central Market.

The “Kape Ta sa Merkado” is a weeklong coffee festival running from August 22 to 28 at the Iloilo Central Public Market. It is being held as part of Iloilo City’s 89th Charter Day celebration.IMT
