The Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB-6) has approved a daily minimum wage increase of up to P45 for private sector workers across Western Visayas.

The approval was confirmed by Atty. Sixto Rodriguez Jr., RTWPB-6 chairperson, on Friday, Oct. 23. He said Wage Order No. 30 was signed by all board members.

Under the new order, non-agricultural establishments employing more than 10 workers will receive a P40 daily increase, raising the current P550 daily minimum wage to P590.

For smaller non-agricultural establishments employing 10 workers or fewer, wages will also see a P40 hike, bringing the daily rate from P525 to P565.

Meanwhile, workers in the region’s agricultural sector will receive a P45 daily increase, raising their minimum wage from P520 to P565.

Rodriguez said that the board’s decision was officially submitted to the National Wages and Productivity Commission (NWPC) for final review.

Once approved, the order will be sent back to the RTWPB for immediate publication, with the new rates expected to take effect in late November.IMT
