The 24th Bamboo Tee Golf Tournament is expected to attract 300 to 350 golfers from across the Philippines to Iloilo, boosting tourism and promoting the province’s cultural heritage and local attractions.

The tournament will be held from November 12 to 15, 2026, at the Iloilo Golf and Country Club Inc. in Santa Barbara, according to the Department of Tourism (DOT-6).

Participants are expected to include business executives, professionals and leaders from various sectors, providing opportunities to showcase Iloilo’s history, culture, gastronomy and other tourism experiences in Western Visayas.

To maximize the event’s tourism potential, the DOT-6 has partnered with the golf club, local government units, tourism establishments and other stakeholders to promote regional attractions beyond the golf course.

DOT-6 Director Crisanta Marlene P. Rodriguez emphasized the importance of sporting events in expanding tourism opportunities and strengthening collaboration with the private sector.

Proceeds from the tournament are also expected to help fund the restoration of the Iloilo Golf Club Museum, supporting efforts to preserve the historic golf club’s heritage.

The tournament will also serve as a lead-up to two milestones in 2027: the 25th edition of the Bamboo Tee Golf Tournament and the 120th anniversary of the Iloilo Golf and Country Club.IMT
